Where: Hartford, CT Deadline: Rolling Basis Approx. Hours: 16-25/Week
Purpose: As a member of the finance division, you will assist in accounting functions which may include general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets. You will be responsible for providing all aspects of financial support for planning and control and inter-company transactions.
Conduct account reconciliation periodically, ledger close activities, and provide accurate financial data to support management in decision making.
Develop and prepare financial reports including profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements.
Review and analyze inter-company transactions.
Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit requirements.
Gather, model, analyze, prepare, and summarize information for financial plans, operating forecasts, trended future requirements, etc.; on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.
Perform revenue and expense analysis, headcount and headcount driven expense analysis at cost center level, tracking of product and product line revenue, reconciliation of accounts receivable, variance analysis and ad-hoc analysis as required.
Review and match invoices with appropriate documentations to validate authorization for payment.
Process invoices and employee expense reports, and enter data into accounting systems and A/P check processing and mailing.
Position has overview responsibility of accounts payable processing and will also fill in as a back-up role assisting with other accounting functions as requested.
International travel booking and other related help.
Working towards BA/BS degree in Finance / Accounting or equivalent preferred.
Demonstrated ability to solve problem with some assistance and guidance.
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply company policies and procedures.
Strong analytical, prioritization and communication skills in partnering with other internal groups.
Excellent knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and QuickBooks is essential.
